Praying Together: Yeshurun Synagogue Services

Promoting a rare tradition of unity, Yeshurun has hosted a wide spectrum from the Jewish community as worshipers. Many Chief Rabbis serving both Israel's Ashkenazi and Sephardi communities, yeshiva heads, prominent sages from abroad, Israeli prime ministers, presidents, government ministers and other civic leaders are able to pray side by side in our sanctuary. That tradition continues to grow, with worshipers from all walks of life and different backgrounds participating in our daily, Shabbat and holiday prayers.

Daily Services

The doors of Yeshurun are open to anyone who wants to join the minyan for daily prayers. The mid-sized sanctuary provides the right balance of informal yet dignified worship. The seating has been modernized, with climate control added for comfort. Otherwise our Beit Tefillah retains much of its original design, making everyone aware of the link with past generations who prayed here.

Yeshurun provides two daily morning services, both followed by light refreshments and a chance to socialise - fostering personal relationships and a sense of community. After the second minyan, many worshipers stay for the Shiurim in Hebrew and English an added attraction being light refreshments available after the second service.

Shabbat Services

Yeshurun is blessed with world-renowned Chazan (Cantor) Asher Hainowitz, who gained his reputation in South Africa and England, and whose recordings of the High Holiday prayers are a model for (synagogue leaders) around the world.
