Yeshurun, the Community

Celebrating and commemorating together: Yeshurun Community news and events

The Yeshurun Synagogue is the venue for many public events, from the Chief Rabbinate's ordination of new rabbis and dayanim, to the celebration of modern national holidays.

The holidays are marked by creative events, such as:

  • The annual Chazzanut concert on Yom Atzma'ut (Israel Independence Day), which draws cantorial fans from all over the country.
  • Celebrations in honor of Yom Yerushalayim (Jerusalem's reunification in the Six-Day War).

In addition, many private citizens - both Jerusalem residents and visitors from abroad - bring their personal Simchas to Yeshurun. Some choose our Synagogue for its welcoming atmosphere, others for its historical significance, and still others for its central location and accessibility by public transportation.

The most popular events are:

  • Bar Mitzvahs
  • Shabbat Chatan
